The Work

What a Sandblasting Job at Ace Looks Like

Our crews are mobile. We bring the blast equipment to the job site, anywhere within about 150 miles of Austin, including San Antonio, Dallas, and Corpus Christi. One week you might be stripping paint off brick and stucco on a home, the next you're prepping a tilt-up concrete wall or a warehouse floor for a coating crew.

On industrial and structural steel work, we blast to SSPC and NACE standards such as SSPC-SP5 White Metal and SSPC-SP10 Near-White Metal. Learning to read a coating spec and hit the required profile is a skill that carries across the whole surface-prep and coatings trade.

You'll learn how to match blast media and pressure to the surface in front of you. Soft media and low pressure for wood beams and stucco, aggressive media for steel and heavy rust. Getting that call right is the difference between a clean, profiled surface and a damaged one, and it's what our customers count on us for.

What We Look For

  • Blasting or surface-prep experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic counts.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across Central and South Texas.
